Text Entry

There are a couple of options for entering text when writing stories, posting comments, or anywhere else you can add content to the site. If you look under the text area in the form, there is a section where you can set your *Input format* to one of the following formats. Full documentation for all of these input formats is available "here":filter/tips, but here are some highlights: h3. Filtered HTML If you know HTML, this means that wrapping your text in angle-bracket tags such as <b>bold</b> will make your text bold (just one example). The available tags for HTML are shown in the Input format menu. h3. Textile This is a more friendly way of entering text formatting, being that it's much more readable for you when entering it. You can find a quick reference for Textile formatting "here":textism.com/tools/textile/. Click on some of the examples on the right of the page to see how it works. Easy and worth learning. h3. Gallery Images It's possible to insert gallery images into your story. You will need to find the image's ID number, by looking in your address bar. Then you can reference it in your story using this [[G2]] syntax: You type: [[*G2:86*]] You get: h3. Inline Images For images that you want to attach and include with your story without having them in the gallery (why wouldn't you??), you can use the [[*inline*]] syntax. # attach an image to your story using the attachment section. # in your story, reference the attached image using [[*inline:filename.jpg*]]
